Mixed-Use Development: Opportunities And Challenges - Case Study

Mixed-use development and operation is a mega-trend and has become the de-facto standard for both urban area and suburban downtowns.  Mixed-use development has great opportunities and challenges.  Learn about the pros and cons of mixed-use project and the "secret sauce" of what makes for a successful and long-term sustainable project.  This course will use an actual case study of a vertical mixed-use project in the San Francisco Bay Area with 185 multi-family units and 30,000 square feet of storefront retail.  The course also draws on the instructor's experience with multiple mixed-use residential-retail projects he was involved with in gateway markets across the United States.

Brad Blake

CEO, Founder & Managing Member
He has been the CEO of a public REIT, founder and managing member of two premiere commercial real estate companies including his current company Blake Griggs Properties and been a consultant for two major institutional commercial real estate companies.

He has been a guest teacher at the Stanford Graduate School Business and U.C. Berkeley MRED real estate programs. He is a past trustee of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and has served on numerous Urban Land Institute (ULI) and industry panels.
